Privacy Policy

The short version

Your health data never leaves your phone. We don't sell data. We don't share data. We collect minimal analytics to improve the app, none of which includes health information or personally identifiable information.

What data stays on your device

• Sleep entries and sleep tracking data
• Shift schedule data
• HealthKit data (heart rate, HRV, respiratory rate, SpO2)
• Check-in responses (mood, restedness)
• Recommendation engine outputs

This data is stored locally using Apple's SwiftData framework. If you enable iCloud, it backs up via Apple's CloudKit, encrypted under your Apple ID. We never see it.

What we collect

We use PostHog for anonymous usage analytics. This includes:

• Which screens you visit and how long you spend on them
• Which features you use
• App crashes and errors
• Device type and iOS version
• Subscription status

We never collect: sleep data, health metrics, shift schedules, check-in responses, names, email addresses, or any personally identifiable information.

Subscriptions

If you subscribe to ShiftNight Premium, subscription status is synced to our server (Supabase) so we can verify your subscription across devices. This includes only your anonymous user ID, subscription status, and transaction metadata. No health data.

Third-party services

• Apple HealthKit: Read-only access to sleep analysis and biometric data. This data never leaves your device.
• Apple CloudKit: Optional iCloud backup of app data. Encrypted under your Apple ID.
• PostHog: Anonymous usage analytics. No health data, no PII.
• Supabase: Subscription verification only. No health data.

Data deletion

You can delete all your data at any time from Settings within the app. This removes all local data immediately. If you have iCloud backup enabled, the data will also be removed from iCloud.
